Q. Are you located near the tourist spots and places of interest?
A. Yes, we are right in the middle of town in the Union Square Theater District. All public transport and the cable car are just steps away making it easy to get anywhere in the city.
Q. What are the best things to do in San Francisco?
A. The list is endless, but here is a brief summary of the more famous spots; The Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, Golden Gate Park and Ocean Beach, Fisherman's Wharf, Twin Peaks, Castro District, Mission District, North Beach, City Lights Bookstore, Vesuvios Bar, Angel Island, Bay Bridge, Haight Ashbury, China Town, Dolores Park, Embarcadero and The Ferry Building, Japantown. Nearby is Sausalito, Berkeley, Oakland, Muir Woods Redwoods, Mt. Tamalpais and Marin Headlands for hiking and biking. The Golden State Warriors (NBA) and San Francisco Giants (MLB) stadiums are in the city and easy to get to. The San Francisco 49'ers now play further south in Santa Clara, about an hour away.
Q. Do I need a membership to stay at the Adelaide hostel in San Francisco?
No. We are an independent hostel and NO membership is required. However in order to be checked in you will need a valid picture identification from outside of the local area. To reserve in advance, a valid credit card will be required.
Q. Does the Adelaide hostel have a minimum or maximum stay?
A. There is NO minimum stay but there is a maximum stay of 14 nights at the Adelaide Hostel.
Q. Do you take Group Bookings?
A. Yes, we take groups of all sizes up to 50 people. Send us an inquiry here for Group Rates and otions.
Q. Does the Adelaide hostel have long term student options?
A. Yes. We do have student rooms available across the street for longer term stays. Please contact us here for details. (Sorry, students studying locally only!)
Q. Are guests required to perform chores?
A. NO. You are our guests and we do not require you to do chores. We only hope you enjoy your time in San Francisco.
Q. Do I need to bring a sleeping bag?
A. NO. The Adelaide Hostel provides blankets, linens and pillows.
Q. Does the Adelaide hostel San Francisco have a kitchen?
A. YES. We have a large kitchen with 2 commercial stoves and large fridges to store your food in. We also have a large dining room with satellite television.
Q. Do you allow smoking at the Adelaide Hostel?
A. NO. Smoking is not allowed at the Adelaide Hostel. There is no smoking rooms and common areas are also SMOKE FREE according to California State Laws. ALL rooms are NON-SMOKING at the Adelaide Hostel San Francisco. This includes Electronic Vapor Devices!
Q. Does the Adelaide Hostel have a laundry room?
A. YES. We have a guest laundry open 24 hours and also provide FREE laundry detergent.
Q. Do you have free WiFi?
A. Yes, the Adelaide has FREE wifi for all guests.
Q. Are there any age restrictions at the Hostel?
A. NO. We have guests staying with us of all ages all the time. However, if you are under 17 you will need to be accompanied by an adult parent or a legal guardian.
Q. Will my belongings be safe at the Adelaide?
A. The Adelaide Hostel has lockers under all beds (bring a padlock!) We also have a FREE secure luggage storage room when you chackout or if you are waiting to check in.
Q. Do we provide FREE breakfast?
A. Yes, we offer breakfast (currently toast, bagels, eggs, pancake mix, coffee etc)
Q. Do we have parking available at the Adelaide?
A. Unfortunately we do not have a parking lot (no downtown hostels do) but there are parking garages nearby for around $25 nigthly.
Q. Does the Adelaide Hostel provide a discounted shuttle service to the Airport?
A. During the pandemic discounted shuttles have not been an option, but as things improve we hope to renew our partnership with Airport Express.
